Anansi Games, LLC is the dream of Eric A. Kugler. He is tired of the uninspired games that are sold in the average mega-mart, the re-releases and constant versioning, and resorting to online auctions to try and find copies of the games that his best friend's dog ate when they were fifteen and he was sleeping over at that friend's house.
We take our games very seriously. Actually, we take all games seriously. Games are an integral part of the way humans learn and communicate with one another. Games allow us to do things that we would otherwise never attempt, be it morality or circumstance that stops us. How many Americans would ever try to be real estate tycoons? And yet, how many have played a very popular real estate game created nearly a century ago?
We believe that all games should have that type of longevity. So we only produce high-quality games.
We hope you find this same love of games and gaming in yourself and that you can share that love with your friends, family and your children. After all, sharing the things we love with our loved ones is the greatest game of all.
Why Anansi?
Why did we choose Anansi as our symbol?
Anansi is the trickster god of West Africa, and his stories have deep resonance within Eric's heart.
Anansi completed the three impossible tasks that were set before him, by his father, the sky god, to become the master of all stories. He also tried (nearly succeeding) to gather up all of the knowledge of the world in his magical calabash.
Eric considers the accomplishment of the impossible, the attainment of knowledge, and the power of stories to be the keys to true happiness. He also delights in the mocking of pomposity and the perversion of the status quo.
Eric has spent his life in libraries trying to read every story that exists, and has a deep working knowledge of television, drama, movies, novels, comics and mythology. He has been, in a sense, trying to fill his own calabash with the stories of the world.
But like Anansi who realized the folly of hoarding knowledge, Eric is trying to share those stories with everyone.
Eric has never played a game that he did not enjoy on some level, although some are certainly more fun than others.
So that's why we chose Anansi as our symbol.
He is also easy to draw.

Terror Thirteen: A Horror RPG focuses on telling Gothic, Victorian, Dark Romance, and other classic types of horror stories. With its intuitive Conflict Resolution System and clever pacing and framing techniques, the telling of horror stories becomes easy and natural. While other games have focused on adventure horror, this game focuses on supernatural and cosmic horror as imagined by masters like Shelley, Stoker, Hawthorne, Poe and Stevenson as well as those stories told by modern masters in film and literature.
